Associate Front End Developer
Looking for a position where you can utilize your skills in writing standard compliant code, creating web apps, using jQuery, making UX/UI recommendations, exploring responsive layouts and social media design. The Associate Front End Developer is responsible for development and implementation of websites and applications for Nelnet and affiliates. This role primarily provides coding expertise and works in collaboration with the graphic design team to translate static designs into working standards compliant HTML and CSS. Essential Functions: Front end development in coding of web and email projects. Creation of assets for interactive material in a variety of formats—such as html, web, e-newsletters, online advertising, and email. Interacts with graphic designers and senior graphic designers on projects. Assists interactive and other designers in all facets of project development. Ensures interactive designs are on strategy reflecting the brands personality, standards, and files for accuracy. Adheres to budget and time constraints. Presents ideas to lead creative team. Maintains computer files as well as hard copy files of artwork, mechanicals, proofs, etc. Required Experience: Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school. 2+ years of related front end coding experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Actively learns about and applies coding to new web/interactive graphic design trends and skills. Functional experience working with Adobe CS3 web design and photo editing software—including Photoshop, and Dreamweaver. Minimum intermediate knowledge of CSS and html. JavaScript a plus. Skills: Good at planning and organization, able to make decisions under pressure, good customer service skills, high level of creativity, team player, problem-solving skills, ability to work independently when needed, good oral and written communication skills. Does not supervise the work of others. Physical Activities/Working Conditions: Normal working conditions. May involve limited travel.
