· Located in Bristol, Connecticut, ESPN's headquarters is the worldwide leading hub of sports broadcasting. The Bristol campus contains 27 satellite dishes receiving more than 40,000 feeds per year. It records approximately 200 hours of highlights and program content each day. Our production operations function 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 36 days a year. There are nine control rooms, 31 edit suites and over 2,000 monitors, in addition to six studios - all spanning across 116 acres and 1 million sq ft of building space.
Responsibilities The Vice President, Business Affairs - Digital Media and Technology is responsible for structuring and negotiating agreements, strategic partnerships, investments and acquisitions across ESPN's Digital Media and Technology areas. Duties include: Negotiate a large number of content and technology agreements, and other third-party relationships to expand the scope and breadth of new and existing business and product opportunities in digital content, wireless, interactive television content and technology. These include content agreements, software development licenses, application development licenses, e-commerce arrangements and corporate acquisitions. Assist with distribution rights and clearance issues that may arise in connection with the exploitation of content across ESPN's platforms and third party platforms. Advise and support senior executives and other management personnel on key business issues and rights matters. Play a key role in establishing business "best practices" for Digital Media and Technology deals, and ensure implementation thereof in third party relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

· Critical involvement on structuring ESPN's digital rights under our agreements with professional sports leagues and other rights holders and professional players associations.

· Structure and negotiate agreements that drive growth, product development and market differentiation.

· Lead the cross-divisional team in the conduct of "due diligence" for prospective new enterprises, ventures and acquisitions.

· Represent ESPN to executive level contacts at outside companies.

· Play a key role in establishing business "best practices" for Digital Media and Technology deals, and ensure implementation thereof in third party relationships.

· Implement execution of acquisitions, investments and partnerships for ESPN Digital Media, in conjunction with the business leaders of Digital Media, Technology, Finance, Legal, Business Affairs and Business Development.

· Regularly communicate with the executives and managers of BA/BD, Digital Media, Technology, Finance, Legal, and other Content management.

· Maintain relations with executives and managers across Content to ensure maximization of cross-platform opportunities in our agreements.

· Maintain relationships with the other groups involved in deal negotiation, execution and implementation at ESPN (Legal, Finance, HR, PR, etc.)
Basic Qualifications Minimum of ten years Legal and/or Business Affairs experience within the new media, Internet or television industry, including at least 5 years in Business Affairs.
