We follow a simple but vital premise in the User Experience group: "Focus on the user and all else will follow." We're ardently interested in our users and strive to learn everything we can about their behaviors, attitudes and emotions to help define the products and experiences we create. The User Experience team is a critical driving force behind gathering these insights and then using them to inspire and inform design. We are a multi-disciplinary team of interaction designers, visual designers, user researchers, copywriters and Web developers who collaborate closely with each other and with engineering and product management to create innovative, usable, great-looking products that people love to role: User Experience Quantitative Analyst
The User Experience team is expanding its efforts to track usersâ?? attitudes and provide actionable insights from user surveys. You will play a critical role by analyzing survey results with appropriate statistical rigor, generating reporting to integrate with existing product dashboards, assessing the degree of nonresponse bias per survey, and modeling sources of satisfaction and dissatisfaction variance for each product. This analystâ??s efforts will provide a foundation for valid, reliable satisfaction tracking, and will lead directly to making our users happier, the key to Googleâ??s ponsibilities:
* Design and execute survey analyses to track usersâ?? satisfaction over time, develop attitudinal/behavioral models, identify key user segments, and compare results between experimental groups. Communicate findings to a diverse audience.
* Conduct analyses of survey nonresponse bias, data validity and reliability.
* Examine relationship between usersâ?? attitudes (survey data) and their behaviors (logfile data).
* Work with colleagues to design and analyze experiments to inform survey methodology best practices.
* Develop efficient reporting processes and automate routine data collection within Google's complex data imum Qualifications:
* BA/BS with emphasis on quantitative research methods (preferably in statistics, social sciences, human-computer interaction, engineering, applied mathematics or a related field). In lieu of degree, 4 years of relevant experience.
* A track record demonstrating excellent command with statistics and statistical software (e.g. R, SPSS, Stata, SAS)Preferred Qualifications:
* 3 years professional or academic experience in quantitative analysis. Experience with the following are pluses: modeling attitudes and behaviors, experimental design and analysis, longitudinal analysis, and assessing survey nonresponse error.
* An excellent track record of research within a given domain, and command of technical tools for data collection and analysis.
* Excellent working knowledge of statistics and the principles of experiment ly now
