?????????????The SVP/Director for Private Equity/Venture Capital Firms will help manage Gerson Lehrman Group, Inc.'s (GLG) relationships with key clients and enable them to fully realize the value of GLG's platform. ?The SVP/Director will work on large accounts and collaborate with a team of research professionals focused on the world's leading Private Equity and Hedge Funds' firms. Key Responsibilities:
• Directly engage and build relationships at a senior client level (Principal, Partner, MD) in order to articulate GLG’s brand and tailor our value proposition. • Create and sell a vision for large, untapped applications of the marketplace for expertise, such as buy-side investment research. • Develop and manage relationships with the senior decision makers at large & mid-market institutions • Develop and negotiate multi-million dollar deals for existing clients and new business as well as provide full support throughout the life cycle of a private equity deal. • Collaborate with internal colleagues—sales, marketing, legal, research, finance, technology—to deliver solutions to new issues/concerns as they arise. • Build account plans and create client service and account growth objectives, and quarterback client service teams to achieve those objectives. • Roll out new product, service and pricing initiatives to clients, and gather market-level feedback on those initiatives. • Provide feedback to the heads of sales, marketing, client service and finance, as well as product managers, which will shape those initiatives.
Key performance metrics for the SVP/Director include client revenue growth and adoption of new products and systems. The SVP/Director will also be responsible for managing existing and establishing relationships with new clients. The SVP/Director will report to a segment leader on the financial services sales team and will also work closely with client service professionals and other salespeople. Required Skills:
Candidates for this position should have demonstrated an ability to make consultative enterprise-level sales, as well as to develop that ability in junior professionals and peers. Candidates should also be comfortable articulating the value of our expert networks, professional services and client-facing software systems at price points ranging from $50,000 to well beyond $5 million.
Candidates must have a clear track record of excellence in several categories, including: teamwork, professionalism, communications, organization and client service.
Additional candidate qualifications include: • 7 to 10 years of demonstrated success in one of these fields: • Consultant at top-tier strategy consultancy • Investment professional at private equity firm • Investment banker in a financial sponsors or technology team • Application service provider or senior software sales • Financial services’ industry sales
