AT&T Mergers & Acquisitions / Corporate Development is comprised of a small team of professionals responsible to analyze, negotiate and execute all M&A transactions, divestitures and strategic investments for AT&T. The primary responsibility of the Intern position is financial modeling. All models are developed internally, so understanding the drivers of the business as well as the mechanics of building a comprehensive model with detailed financial statements is a crucial first step in the M&A group. The M&A group is very demanding and rewarding. In addition to being highly motivated, you must be willing to work long, unpredictable hours, be flexible in your work schedule, and be willing to travel.
Key responsibilities include:
- Utilize discounted cash flow and other valuation techniques to assess economic value of potential transactions.
- Create detailed financial models with dynamic financial statements to assess financial impact to AT&T.
- Provide support for the analysis and negotiation of principal terms and conditions for transactions with internal constituents and counterparties.
- Typically reports to and has all activities closely supervised by General Management .
Key skills/requirements:
- Good working knowledge of financial analysis, accounting and tax issues
- Effectively interact with senior management for Fortune 10 company
- Ability to learn and assimilate new information and skills quickly
- Excellent analytical abilities and financial modeling skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- MBA candidate with a concentration in Finance or Accounting
- CPA or CFA encouraged, but not required
