Vital Support Systems (Vital) is one of the leading providers of enterprise technology solutions in the Midwest. Vital’s solution portfolio includes products from leading network and systems manufacturers, including Cisco, Hewlett Packard, EMC, Microsoft, Citrix and VMWare. Vital combines deep technical knowledge with a strong business focus to deliver enterprise class IT solutions and to provide business al is searching for a candidate for the position of Sr. Sales Consultant – Systems Sales. The position is based out of Vital’s office in Davenport, IA. The primary solution set will be the Cisco, HP, VMware, Citrix, and Microsoft systems products and related Vital Support System services.
The successful candidate must demonstrate the following skills, traits, and experience:
5+ years technical sales experience
Strong account planning and management skills
Mature negotiation skills
Excellent problem solving skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to discuss, understand, and work within complex projects and processes
Self-directed and self-motivated
Competitive spirit with a results-driven, goal-oriented attitude
Good time management skills and the ability to work well under pressure
Integrity and ethical behavior is a must
Adaptable to changing environment
Team player / team leader
Typical work activities include:
Meeting quarterly and annual sales targets (product and Vital services)
Territory development (new customer acquisition) and sales planning
Maintaining / supporting / growing installed base of accounts
Meeting with existing, new and prospective clients to identify business problems
Articulating the benefits of our solutions through discussions, presentations and demonstrations
Proposing data center solutions along with Vital services
Preparing quotes and writing technical proposals and Statements of Work (SOW)
Coordinating companying resources through a defined process
Closely partnering with our manufacturer’s field teams
Following Vital’s sales, ordering, and reporting processes
Attending virtual or in-person training sessions to stay abreast of advances in technology and new products
