This is a full-time position, reporting directly to the Director of Solutions.
This position will be a lead technical member of the Master Network Integration capture team, a technical and business Thought Leader in network design and implementation with experience in all phases of a network life cycle. The Solutions Architect will work with all organization levels and Lines of Business (LOBs) including: Sales, Marketing, Finance, Legal, Program Management, Professional Services, Deployment Services, Maintenance Services, and Business Operations. This position will be responsible for the identification, qualification, technical design and architecture, and capture solutions opportunities, including project P&L development, risk identification and mitigation, proposal coordination of Fujitsu and 3rdparty equipment and services.
Responsible for the following:
* Be the networking technology Subject Matter Expert for large-scale network implementation composed of OSI Layer 1 - 3 technologies to include but not be limited to long-haul DWDM transport elements, MPLS routed traffic, and metro Ethernet services from inception through delivery.
* Creation of network planning, network architecture design and network engineering business solutions.
* Profit & Loss statement development for the proposed solution to meet Fujitsu financial requirements.
* Identify, qualify, and develop opportunities into profitable solutions that meet the technical requirements of the customer.
* Development of complete solution responses, from design to pricing to legal contracts to negotiations.
* Product manage 3rdparty relationships, technologies, products, and services.
* Conduct network reviews of customer environments and provide "best-in-class" benchmark assessments with the following deliverables:
* Gap identification and analysis
* Recommendations/designs to address gaps and detailed plans to implement recommendations with cost & value analysis
* Develop and promote a refined understanding of both the technology and the network services solution to enable integration of network services with enterprise and service provider customer networking environment across "heterogeneous" technical platforms encompassing various technology vendors.
* Develop specific recommendations to CTO/CIO's on emerging technologies, network services architecture design, network integration, and application support requirements. Communicate and disseminate those findings through a disciplined systems engineering methodology (well-written documents) to various internal and external clients.
Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, Masters in EE or MBA a plus
8 - 10 years of engineering solution design, network engineering, business development, implementation, and delivery experience. Established track record as a Thought Leader in designing, implementing, and presenting network solutions that deliver high profits and meet customer expectations.
Expert level of experience in one, demonstrable expertise in all:
* Data networking
* Optical networking
* Wireless networking
- Extensive understanding of Layer 1 through Layer 3 network services and technologies, including dark fiber, DWDM, SONET/SDH, Ethernet, MPLS, and IP.
- A strong experience with network integration test planning and execution in multi-vendor environment.
- Protocol Experience:
SONET/SDH, PDH, ATM, TCP/IP, MPLS, C/DWDM, xDSL, FTTx, NGN, VoIP/SIP, WLAN (802.11), GSM, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, CDMA, LMDS, MMDS, WiMAX (802.16).
