This position is for a Software Engineer with a passion for web performance.
Job Responsibilities:
· Primary developer for next generation of YSlow · Part of engineering team developing mission critical monitoring tool used on Yahoo! properties world-wide · Performing research in Web Performance related fields · Optional evangelism opportunity includes teaching internal performance classes, blogging, presenting in conferences · Innovation of new performance tools/features
Minimum Job Qualifications:
· At least 5 years of fulltime large scale web application development experience · Strong object oriented development and design skills · Solid skill of JavaScript/AJAX/PHP required · Database experience (MySQL preferred) · Good understanding of web technologies (HTTP, Apache) · Strong code optimization techniques and experiences with performance toning · Good web security knowledge (Cross Site Scripting, SQL Injection, Input Validation) · UNIX development and version control software experience (SVN, CVS) · Strong command of web standards · Excellent problem solving skills a must · Great sense of responsibility and attention to detail · Excellent verbal and written communications skills · Excellent inter-personal skills and team work
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience with data mining and analysis is desirable · Experience developing any performance tools a plus · Demonstrated ability to deliver complex systems against a deadline · BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent
