Job Overview: Emmis Digital is seeking a talented PHP developer to join our Creative Services team based in Austin TX. This individual will develop, manage, support new and existing web based applications for Emmis Digital.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Develop, manage and support web based applications * Write technical documents and design specifications for internal team * Resolve application problems and perform resolution follow ups * Participate in project planning, including research and development * Keep up on the latest technologies and trends
To be considered, candidates should have the following technical skills: * 3 to 5 years experience with PHP development * MySQL and relational database design * 3 years experience working with APIs, with a focus on Facebook and other social media outlets * Moderate JavaScript/AJAX experience * Experience in the development and production of standards based web sites using HTML, XHTML, CSS 2.0/3.0, and JavaScript across multiple browsers * 3 years experience of collaborative web development methodologies * Experience with CMS systems; preferably Joomla, Expression engine and Wordpress * Experience with Kohana and cascading modularity is a big plus * Any mobile or location based development is a plus
Education/Experience: * Bachelor’s Degree * 3 to 5 years of professional experience
Additional Skills / Preferences: * Self motivated and ready for a challenge * Enjoy fast moving development cycles * Passionate * Team member with excellent communication skills
