Career Opportunity - AT&T Performing Arts Center
Job Summary: The AT&T Performing Arts Center is seeking an experienced individual to serve as Marketing Manager. This position will manage assigned concert and show marketing activities, including consumer marketing programs, advertising and communications, branding, promotions, and digital media to maximize ticket revenue on programming and enhance the image of the Center in the community and industry. The Marketing Manager will have responsibility for generating ticket sales for the organization through subscription and single ticket sales, support of Group Sales, and creative ticket packages. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, this position will work with a team composed of a Digital Marketing Manager, Marketing and Promotions Coordinator, Group Sales Manager, Group Sales Coordinator, in-house creative services/graphics, plus an outside advertising and public relations agency.
Position Responsibilities (include but are not limited to): The following constitutes a preliminary list of the primary functions of this position. This description is not all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned as needed by the Director of Marketing.
Concert and Show Marketing: -Along with the Director of Marketing, develop and implement overall marketing campaigns for assigned shows/ Center events in a timely manner within a predetermined budget to maximize ticket sales or other Center objectives. -Manage all tactical day-to-day components of individual campaigns, from announcement to settlement of music, dance, lecture and theatrical engagements. -Develop sales goals, pricing and special promotions for subscriptions, single tickets and special promotional packages, including implementation of dynamic pricing campaigns for assigned series and shows/events. -Develop new, innovative, and creative ways of attracting people and prompting them to purchase tickets to events. -Work with Advertising and Public Relations Agency to determine most effective use of advertising and promotional budgets to drive exposure through mass media, both paid and promotional. -Work with Digital Marketing Manager to develop digital and social/viral campaign components to maximize exposure and ticket sales. -Work with co-production companies and artists' representatives on planning and securing materials, e.g. photography, artwork, details on performances necessary to create and execute advertising and promotion plans on a timely schedule -Networking within the Entertainment industry to solidify market knowledge and best marketing practices in an ever-changing entertainment industry.
Audience development and database management: - In collaboration with the Director of Marketing, formulate, monitor and report key performance metrics and progress against goals to senior leadership. -Follow best database marketing practices to include building audience knowledge, monitoring transactional histories, managing file segmentation and hygiene, tracking and reporting results of marketing initiatives -Develop and grow a mailing, emailing, social and mobile messaging database to effectively reach targets in the most cost-efficient manner.
Community Engagement: -Create and manage campaigns for community partnerships with Marketing and Promotions Coordinator. -Manage rental client presenters' marketing requests and needs with Marketing and Promotions Coordinator. -Coordinate closely with Center Resident Companies and other users in delivering needed information for successful implementation of their marketing programs.
Education and Experience: The ideal candidate will be an entertainment marketing professional with a minimum of 5 years of practical -hands-on- concert and/or performing arts industry marketing experience with measurable and demonstrated success in highly efficient ticket sales and revenue production. Must have experience in managing entertainment or related marketing campaigns. This position will be seen as entrepreneurial and creative, but an ideal candidate will also need to bring a phenomenal attention detail and organization to the position. -Extensive entertainment marketing knowledge and networks (Concerts and Performing Arts) -Ability to build strong relationships with community organizations -Exceptional ability to manage creative, unique and effective marketing programs -Strong Project Management Skills -Effective communicator who can work closely with other departments. -Demonstrate both an independent nature and an ability to work well with a team
Bachelor's degree; strong written, communication and interpersonal skills required; strong time management skills; experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, is required.
Candidate needs to have a proven ability to utilize a collaborative approach, with the appreciation of working as part of a team. Candidate must be a self-starter who takes the initiative to start projects, work unsupervised, complete tasks independently, solve roadblocks, and address issues before they become problems.
