SEO Information Architect Mgr-Marketing

• Bachelor degree or equivalent experience, Masters preferred.
• 6 years of experience in web based ecommerce merchandising with demonstrated experience in increasing online sales through SEO and SEM for the consumer market.
• Understanding / working knowledge to ensure rank/visibility across Google, Bing/Yahoo. In-depth understanding of how Google and Bing rank pages (will want to hear detailed explanations of this).
• Ability to translate marketing strategy into an effective SEO strategy
• Full understanding of the following: Keyword research, title tag optimization, link building, content optimization, meta tag/description optimization, etc.
• Experience directing the efforts of external SEO/SEM vendors.
• Advanced experience using social networks for link building.
• Fully up-to-date on current ecommerce tools and techniques.
• Strong PC and desktop applications competency (e.g., Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, e-mail, etc.)
• Must be extremely detail oriented and have a passion for thoroughness and accuracy.
• Very strong organization and time management skills.
• Ability to work well within a team environment and under pressure of deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

Other: Willingness to work in a fast paced internet space that requires flexibility of hours/days to support the rigorous release schedule to maintain The candidate must demonstrate solid leadership and analytical skills and robust technical knowledge of web based Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategy, tactics and methodology. The candidate must have demonstrated knowledge of transforming fortune 100 corporations' web site design and content development process to increase web traffic from search engines and achieve break-through improvements in online sales.

SEO STRATEGIC PLANNING
Develop strategic plan to maximize traffic and online sales from leading search engines. Establish strategic vision, goals, roadmap and tactical plans. Develop new processes for Verizon Wireless web design, development, content management, QA and reporting to incorporate SEO industry best practices into the web development life-cycle.

The candidate will be required to develop executive communications to articulate the SEO strategy/roadmap and to obtain executive buy-in and support from all impacted organizations. The candidate must develop business cases including financial models and champion SEO initiatives to obtain funding approval from senior management.

MANAGE TEAM AND PROJECTS
Leads SEO initiatives for Web Design and Marketing Agencies, SEO consulting firms, Information Technology (IT), Marketing, Device Teams, Online Affiliate partners and Go To Market (GTM) teams. Develop strategic vision and goals, new processes, tactical plans and project schedules. Oversees all teams to ensure alignment and delivery of projects and sales results.

Directs and communicates regularly with internal and external stakeholders and members of all SEO impacting groups (Web Design and Marketing Agencies, SEO consulting firms, Information Technology (IT), QA teams, Marketing, Device Teams, Online Affiliate partners and Go To Market (GTM) ) on project status, planned work and resource plans. Assess, assign and direct SEO resources for SEO initiatives to drive online sales results. Prepares project status reports and communicates to all business stakeholders in a timely and effective manner.

Candidate ensures all web development projects follow SEO industry best practices and makes appropriate adjustments to manage projects as they ""unfold"" involving appropriate Agency, Marketing, IT and Business resources from other areas. Ensures SEO projects are resourced effectively and recommends changes/additions to web development project plans, as appropriate to deliver SEO optimization and sales results.

Prepares weekly reports for senior management regarding project/business status and adjusts communications accordingly by audience. Ensures that SEO initiatives are kept current for reporting purposes. Create strategies and plans for link building. Keep a running inventory of all canonical URLs and audit them on a monthly basis. Communicates important developments and SEO activities to stakeholders and management as appropriate.

Participates in budget planning and provides input that is accurate and timely. Meets budget standards for respective area of responsibility.

Motivates, coaches and trains staff to maximize productivity and promote their professional development. Staff size is from 10-15 employees and/or contractors who are located remotely Ability to manage staff virtually in varying time zones.

MONITOR SEO PERFORMANCE
Monitors SEO performance on daily basis and implements operational procedures to maximize efficiency. Ensures that SEO impacting problems are resolved quickly, Meets objectives for controlling and/or reducing production issues.

The candidate will be required to plan resources, identify quick wins, and identify process improvements that can be automated using applicable monitoring tools to increase efficiencies.

Identify and use new technology, tools to increase SEO generated traffic to . Vendor management is required to ensure proper budget allocation and realization of SEO business benefits.
