Description:
As a Senior SQA Engineer you will perform test planning, implement test automation, lead projects, and execute tests for multiple products that comprise the next generation high definition video communications solution.
Responsibilities:
§ Lead team members who test products in a matrix manner § Responsible for project management of schedules, resource planning, dependency management, risk analysis, and issue resolution. § Design and implementation of automated software and hardware test suites for audio/video communication products. § Develop functional test cases through product investigation, direct interaction with development, and product requirements. § Develop use cases to validate customer usage scenarios. § Create test environments which simulate deployment conditions. § Understand and incorporate tests of relevant standards that affect your product. § Execute manual and automated tests, analyze problems, provide detailed failure information, and work with development to facilitate defect resolution. § Represent SQA interests in defect review meetings. § Direct other engineers in product testing. § Own a software component and become the subject matter expert. § Design and create test frameworks for functional and system tests which improve test coverage and efficiency. § Establish and report entry and exit criteria. § Define and measure product performance goals. § Ensure teams follow consistent standards and test approach. § Analyze and report quality metrics. § Debug product failures using logs and internally developed tools. § Create and analyze code change metrics to determine test coverage. § Use automation to reproduce and resolve systemic problems. § Responsible for mentoring and developing SQA skills in others across the SQA organization. § Initiate process improvements which result in more efficient use of company resources and better product deliverables.
Qualifications:
§ BS + 5 years successive experience or Masters in CS/CE/EE. § Effective verbal and written communication skills. § Software testing experience including test automation design and implementation. § Experience with home-grown, shareware, or commercial test development environments. § Programming experience in a high-level language such as C++ or Java. § Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Perl. § Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills; experience in detecting, isolating, and characterizing product defects. § Ability to debug and administer UNIX/Linux environments. § Prior history of working in a global development team a plus. § Self-directed and able to carry out responsibilities with a minimum of supervision. § Other desirable experience: o Familiarity with video and audio protocols o Familiarity with SIP and H.323 protocols o Experience with embedded systems development and testing o Understanding of networking concepts/protocols – TCP/IP, NAT, IP packet routing, ISDN o experience troubleshooting networks using sniffers and protocol trace tools o Familiarity of Subversion, JIRA, ApTest, Confluence
