Senior DC Consultant
The Senior DC Consultant will use defined contribution (DC) plan technical knowledge, consulting, and business development skills on a variety of clients retirement issues (plex nondiscrimination testing, operational compliance reviews, plan design and benefit strategy, mergers and acquisitions, administration consulting and vendor management). Defined contribution plans include 401(k), 403(b), 457(b), profit sharing and money purchase plans. To fulfill this role, the Consultant will:
Coordinate, as part of varying project teams, to provide strategic consulting/technical advice directly to large clients on complex and challenging issues in the area of Defined Contribution consulting. Projects may encompass various issues including compliance, administration/vendor management and plan design. As appropriate, consultant will review calculations and work products produced by junior consultants and analysts using Mercer software/tools. Consultant will also provide support and advise internal Mercer teams regarding defined contribution issues.
Serve as internal project manager on large DC projects, prepare project plans and tools and client reporting. Direct preparation of internal peer review documentation. Manage project teams and budgets, and applies advanced professional and or technical know-how to client problems and to meet project objectives.
Hold significant responsibility for proactive revenue generation of existing clients and contributing in a meaningful way to new business efforts. Develop retirement and compliance strategies for small, medium and large clients.
Bachelors degree in mathematics, business, economics, finance or related field or equivalent experience.
Minimum 10 years of experience in defined contribution consulting or administration, with a proven ability to sell and deliver retirement consulting services to senior business leaders
In-depth knowledge of defined contribution concepts, such as design, administration, plan governance, compliance, plan management, defined contribution nondiscrimination testing.
Proven management skills in leading large complex projects and managing client expectations.
Familiar with testing software capabilities and reports, and with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
Excellent interpersonal skills; strong oral and written communication skills.
