Senior Cost Consultant
DAVIS LANGDON is the U.S. based practice of Davis Langdon & Seah International. We provide a wide range of consulting services to the property and construction industry designed to manage the cost and financial risk of our clients’ projects. We operate out of 9 offices in the United States and a total of 105 worldwide.
Currently, we have an opportunity for a motivated, hands-on SeniorCost Consultant who can is capable of helping our clients achieve their goals. This position is located in our Santa Monica office and requires that the candidate advise on the cost implications of client’s requirements from the earliest stages of design; understand how to assess financial viability; use cost modeling expertise to provide deliverables; serve as the sole point-of-contact with the client; and assume complete ownership of mid- to large scale projects in a variety of sectors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage and analyze client requirements
Perform cost and financial risk management services from feasibility stage to close-out
Prepare cost reports
Build and maintain client relationships
Prepare written and oral presentations as part of project delivery
Be accountable for communication, quality control, and profitability of projects
Manage, train and mentor staff
REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS:
Must have solid background in cost planning, quantity surveying, construction management/engineering or business economics
10+ years cost estimating experience on mid- to large-scale construction projects up to $100 million in construction cost
Minimum 5+ years as Project and Client Manager on mid to large-scale projects
Bachelors or higher degree in a construction-related discipline
Demonstrated client management, communication and organizational skills
Ability to think strategically, plan and problem solve
Ability to interpret conceptual and schematic construction drawings, specifications, program documents and outlines
Ability to write complex business documents such as reports, papers, detailed letters and emails
Attention to detail and quality
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
Authorization to work in the US without sponsorship
