We are seeking out an accomplished copy writer, with a passion for cycling and most importantly a deep knowledge of the road category, to work with the Global Marketing team to articulate our voice, while ensuring the timely creation and delivery of marketing materials that meet company needs.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Extensive knowledge of road cycling and related technologies
5+ years experience writing for sales and marketing communications, with at least 2 years in a similar role
Ability to hang on the lunch rides or at least try to.
Must be able to uphold our brand's voice in all communications and speak in a way that's appropriate to different rider groups
Proven talent and desire to continually improve efficacy of communications
Good joke delivery a plus
Excellent portfolio of writing in cycling or a related field with examples of both technical and creative work
High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Excel and PowerPoint (at least)
Ability to successfully self-manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
Ability to develop and manage timelines for multiple projects
Excellent attention to detail and quality
High personal productivity with demonstrated follow-up ability
Ability to plate 2 doughnuts and a bagel while holding a cup of coffee on Fridays is a necessity
Impeccable verbal communication skills
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Be the voice within our road segment who develops and edits all copy and ensures accuracy and appropriateness of messaging
Assist with download, proofing and editing of bicycle and equipment specifications and key feature/benefit statements
Develop copy for press releases and web
Assist with advertising copy and headlines
Provide input on overall design direction of printed collateral
Work with International Marketing Manager to deliver all assets to our worldwide subsidiaries and distributors
Work with Interactive Manager to deliver bike and equipment assets for web use
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with print collateral group to develop timelines for projects
Advise on photography for the road segment
Make recommendations on how to continually improve collateral projects
Attend corporate trade shows, sales meetings and events as required for job performance
Perform other duties as assigned
Part time brand ambassador
EXPERIENCE:
BS/BA in Marketing, Journalism or related field, or equivalent experience
