Description The Senior Communication Specialist is responsible for providing strategic and tactical employee communication consultancy, advice, support and resources to members of QVC's leadership team within assigned client areas. The Senior Communication Specialist articulates management's objectives and key messages via timely and compelling communications. Contributes to a strong organizational culture by clearly and consistently communicating the QVC Agenda, values and brand.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Design and drive strategic communication plans for designated client areas that support and deliver messaging around business initiatives and/or changes in internal processes that are complex and impact either the entire organization or large segments within in a way that helps establish and maintain consistent messaging and company voice. These plans must clearly link to the overarching corporate communication strategy.
Develop, drive and maintain consulting relationships within designated client areas that build collaborative, proactive and strategic communication plans that are integrated with the overall corporate communication strategy.
Drive the effective communication of organizational change, new initiatives and management objectives with clarity.
Write and design accurate, compelling and impactful communications using a variety of platforms.
Establish a level of influence with clients that results in a collaborative approach to communication. Leverage multiple communciation channels to reach a diverse workforce.
Manage multiple communication plans concurrently while meeting all deadlines and commitments.
Connect all communications on multiple channels to the overarching communication strategy and pull in design components that clearly theme communications for the audience.
Tailor communications to various audiences within the workforce. Occasionally develops communications that will be used globally.
Assist senior leadership with speechwriting and presentations to internal and external audiences.
Partner with PR to ensure alignment of messaging.
Illustrate the ongoing development of a strong organizational culture by clearly linking how The QVC Difference Values drive business decisions and results. Qualifications & Requirements . At least 5 years of Corporate Communication experience required. . Bachelor's Degree in Marketing/PR/Communication/Journalism/Business or equivalent experience required. . Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills required. . Excellent written and verbal communication skills from concept to completion, including message development, audience analysis (including tone and voice), and the creation, editing and tailoring of compelling communications for a variety of channels. . Able to write and design compelling and impactful copy for multiple communications simultaneously. . Self-management, drive for results skills essential. . Project management experience a plus. . Able to write and edit across a variety of communication formats, including but not limited to letters, newsletters, articles, presentations, speeches, web content, and social media, etc. . The ability to understand, simplify, and communicate complex technical or business data/information is critical to effectiveness in this position. . Understand and effectively communicate the QVC brand message. . Effective networking and team building skills required for success in this position. The ability to develop consulting relationships with leaders at all levels of the organization that produce collaborative communication plans that link to the overarching company communciation plan. . Ability to negotiate and influence at all levels of the organization.
