As a Senior Audio DSP Software Engineer you will be part of the team responsible for designing, developing and testing firmware for our products. Responsibilities will include creating design specifications, and participation in software design and implementation activities. Other activities will include working with other team members to develop our final product. As a Senior Audio DSP Software Engineer you will ensure that our product is completed according to or exceeding function, time, cost and other parameters by: integrating complex interacting subsystems, drilling through several layers of code to find and resolve intricate problems, developing new firmware/software components and debugging and resolving DSP Software or algorithm issues.
Technical Responsibilities:
* Work with the Lifesize Audio Team to identify critical issues for Customers in the field, and then design, develop and integrate audio products. * Prototype and evaluate complex audio algorithms. * Build and execute test harnesses to verify the correct operation of algorithms. * Coordinate with Program Management to define Requirements and Test Plans * Develop efficient DSP code to satisfy functional requirements. * Develop and run low level tests to verify your software’s functionality. * Optimize your DSP software for MIPS and memory. * Coordinate with other teams to produce excellent products. * Document and communicate your design, software approach, and schedule. Required Audio Experience:
* 5 years concentrated experience in DSP level software development. * Proficient in C/C++ language programming. * Knowledge of DSP architecture including instructions, cache and DMA. * Knowledge of Telecom and Telecom testing equipment. * Knowledge of digital Audio Processing algorithms. * Experience with the Texas Instruments C64x+ DSP. * Experience with Code Composer Studio and DSP-BIOS. * Knowledgeable of digital audio streaming software concepts * Experience in designing fast and efficient real-time algorithms that exploit DSP architecture * Experience profiling and optimizing core algorithms to improve execution time * Experience with event and data driven real-time multithreaded applications using an RTOS * Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to peers and management. * Ability to work successfully in team environment. * Self-motivated, flexible and able to manage several tasks in a fast-paced environment. * Experience with Audio analog/digital domain hardware * Knowledge of Acoustics ired Linux Experience:
* Fluency with Linux system programming * Experience in writing embedded systems and/or micro controllers * Experience with ARM or equivalent embedded processors * Architecting, designing and developing firmware with hardware interfaces. * Strong knowledge of OS fundamentals, Device Driver and O/S kernel elements development * Experience with timers, interrupts, communications protocols and I/O registers. * Test development for firmware, expertise using test tools (oscilloscopes and analyzers. * Education: BSEE, BSCS or equivalent years of industry work experience. MS preferred.
