Requirements Bedford/St. Martin's seeks aSenior Application Specialist. A person with technical expertise who can support both Bedford/St. Martin's and the Macmillan Central Media Group in the prototype development work needed for Bedford media products and features, especially those that are unique to Bedford or are built outside the current framework of our core technology platform. Major Responsibilities: * Working with Bedford editorial to define and document functional and business requirements for Bedford media products, including custom media products * Working with Bedford editorial to define use cases, workflows, and QA scripts for Bedford media products, including custom media products * Creating proofs-of-concept for potential Bedford products * Helping Macmillan's Central Media Group to manage new development to our core platform architecture, especially as required for Bedford media products * Developing processes and standards to ensure that technical work done on Bedford media products is efficient and appropriate and meets business requirements * Helping Macmillan's Central Media Group to determine the most appropriate technical solutions for Bedford products Required Skills / Knowledge: * Excellent collaboration skills, with an emphasis on the ability to work with a wide range of groups * Advanced problem solving skills and business skills, including the ability to translate Bedford's business requirements into appropriate technical solutions, applying Macmillan's core architecture to meet Bedford's primary business and functional objectives * Ability to analyze the effectiveness of current systems and processes involving media adoptions and create solutions to improve users' overall experience * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Highly organized with attention to detail * Familiarity with identity management/CRM * Familiarity with e-commerce solutions * Familiarity with print publishing a plus Experience Needed: * Minimum 7 years experience * Experience with SDLC (software development lifecycle) * Experience with agile development, rapid-fire prototyping * Experience with .NET application development * Experience with content management systems Educational Background Required: * College degree in computer science Apply On-line
