General Summary:
Technician I, RF personnel are capable of performing various tasks using engineering/electronics principles and techniques. A Technician I, RF shall typically have a High School diploma plus 2 years of applicable experience. An AA (Associates) degree is preferred. A Technician I, RF shall be capable of solving moderately complex RF, electronic, mechanical and/or process problems involved in the development and manufacturing of, but not limited to base station antennas.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Usually work under direction of engineering staff, responsible for assisting engineers with the operation of engineering test equipment in a laboratory setting. Reports model testing status and results to departmental Supervisor/Manager and Engineers as appropriate. Assists in model fabrication, assembly, tuning, and design development. Operate fabricating equipment including but not limited to PCB milling machine, hand soldering tools, drill press, and related hand tools. Assists in all maintenance needs. Performs RF measurements of antenna design parameters. Operate Test equipment including but not limited to power meters, network analyzers and, antenna range software, (far field and near field). Troubleshoot problems in completed assemblies. May trouble shoot an electronic problem area to determine cause and remedy problem.

A Technician I, RF should be relatively knowledgeable in the use of a PC, HP Analyzers, Test Range measurement hard ware (e.g. positioner, winch), and company vehicles. Software applications used in antenna design and engineering and all types of test equipment commonly used in RF design, manufacturing, assembly, and testing.
Requirements:
* High School diploma 2+ years applicable experience * Technical AA degree preferred * Can operate/calibrate several RF measuring instruments * Basic understanding of TD, Port Extensions, Smith Chart, RL, ISO, PIM * Able to quickly learn to operate one Test Range * Able to solder and use basic hand tools * Can use email, basic SAP and word processor * Can do full-day tasks with/without supervision * Works well as an equal in a technician team * Does assigned task in a timely fashion and able to expedite when necessary * Can understand instructions and document results
