Puppet Master (Temporary Assignment)
This is a posting to staff a temporary salaried position. Assure sustainment of creative intent in the delivery and performance of puppetry, including characterization, lip sync, blocking, movement, choreography, and expression while overseeing and facilitating puppeteer rehearsal planning and delivery. Provide leadership and training for Puppet Specialists, and puppeteers to assure appropriate implementation of characterization and puppeteer skills. Shape the vision of the use of puppetry in live entertainment, function as an internal consultant to the Creative Team and as liaison to Character Programs and Development. When required, collaborate with Puppet Designer to provide input into the design/maneuverability of new puppets; interfacing and collaborating with Show Directors, production personnel, vendors, and designers to ensure accurate design implementation and development of characterization and choreography for puppet roles in new and existing shows, projects or events. Oversee auditions/selection of Puppet Specialists. Serve in an advisory capacity to the Talent Casting team in the selection of qualified puppeteers, and assist in recruiting efforts as needed. Plan/spearhead delivery, content development and facilitation of Puppeteer Workshops.
