As a growing, dynamic firm, zcomm is looking for an expert pitcher and a self-proclaimed news junkie who excels in strategic planning for media relations campaigns, to join our team and help lead its success. Responsibilities: • Lead and organize our radio broadcast team on day-to-day assignments, and strategically plan campaigns and pitching angles. • Pitch daily and place interview opportunities with radio media outlets to include national and syndicated programs, networks, local stations, satellite radio, online radio outlets and bloggers. • Coordinate with staff and clients to find the best news angle that may not be immediately obvious in the information provided. • Analyze news environment to update or shift pitches when needed. • Establish, maintain and expand relationships with media contacts to enable placement of content on outlets of interest to zcomm and its clients. • Research broadcast media landscape and trends through trade pubs, appropriate seminars and networking events to find innovative ways to enhance our services and to deliver audio content. • Involve other zcomm teams as needed including radio promotions, video production, satellite TV tours, social media, etc. • Expand existing business with clients and new business development.
Requirements:
Requirements: • Three to five (3-5) years experience in the public relations or communications field with a focus in broadcast PR and media relations, preferably for consumer products. • Strong and persuasive communication skills to include phone and email outreach. • Management experience. • Demonstrated writing skills in drafting scripts, alerts and press releases. • Ability to prioritize, attention to detail and ability to handle multiple assignments/projects. • Success in booking radio media tours and pitching audio content to outlets for earned media. • Experience with Arbitron, TapScan, BIA Media Access Pro and BIA MapX tools a plus. • Experience in recording and producing audio content including editing with Adobe Audition or similar software a plus, will train.
