OCLC Online Computer Library Center, Inc. is a nonprofit, membership, computer library service and research organization dedicated to the public purposes of furthering access to the world's information and reducing information costs. Tens of thousands of libraries around the world use OCLC services to locate, acquire, catalog, lend and preserve library materials. We are currently seeking candidates for a Project Manager position at our Corporate Headquarters in Dublin, Ohio.
The Project Manager is the main focal point for the execution of a Project or Release. In collaboration with the Director or VP executive level sponsor, this position will facilitate, coordinate and drive through delivery, the execution of their assigned projects’ goals. This role balances time, resources, and scope while minimizing risk for a given project.
For an individual project team, the Project Manager provides essential information used to plan, execute and monitor and control the work of the project team across three levels:
project goal to the business objectives or outcomes
project deliverables to the project goal
project tasks to the project deliverables
Lead teams of OCLC professionals to execute specific releases, projects or programs of medium to large sizes.
Oversees project planning and defines scope including project goals and objectives
Project plan creation/updates
Establishes the work breakdown structure that reduces risk to delivery on time and within budgeted resource
Defines quality and work standards for the team – ensures quality objectives are met
Performs stakeholder analysis and conducts communications planning across projects and portfolios.
Project communications – within the team and across divisions
Project team meetings and creation of meeting minutes
Manages execution of the project team
Facilitates collaboration between product and development
Issue resolution
Conflict management
Risk management
Bachelors degree
At least 4 years Project Management experience utilizing a system development life cycle
Project Management Professional or Prince2 certification are strongly desired
