Product Manager (Sports Marketing/Retail)

This position is at the core of bringing new exciting Bike products to the Global market, ideally in ways with a strong point of view, which redefine the market and meet the customer needs and expectations. While this position will focus first on the U.S. and similar markets, this category is Global with development offices in Switzerland and Taiwan. The opportunities to leverage our brand and global development and distribution organization make this position perfect for a person with strong leadership and creativity skills.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE:
Actively provide new product ideas, and input on ongoing projects and participate in a market research. This may require some travel.
Act as an effective Project Manager and take ownership in on-time delivery.
Process Improvement: Work with internal teams to further develop processes and effective means of communication.
Be the leading source of knowledge for parts offerings and guide the parts selection process. As such, you would expect to attend new product meetings, supplier gatherings, bike shows, etc.
Actively search out new product technologies that can add value to our bicycles.
Lead the parts development and development status for the parts that will be used on bikes and essential accessories under development. Act as the superior to Developers who the company may have report to you.
Negotiate component prices and maintain strong relationships with our suppliers.
Maintain strong communication with purchasing teams
Take responsibility for consistency and accuracy and communication of the bike BOMS with our suppliers and update the BOMS as changes or issues arise.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED:
Proven team player
Three or more years of bicycle product management
Takes initiative and a leadership role both with new projects and solving problems.
Must have strong technical and business background, with a good sense for brand and marketing
Must have bike mechanics skills and capable of troubleshooting technical bike issues as they arise.
One who is able to delegate tasks and review completed work efficiently
A person that can coordinate with our design/ engineering/ supplier resources to the fullest extent possible
Must be highly organized and have creative problem solving skills
Computer skills must include intimate knowledge of Excel, with strong skills in Microsoft Outlook, Power Point and is generally adept at computers
Strong English language skills needed, as well as natively speaking German and Swiss
