Product Development Team LeadTitle: Product Development Team Lead Location: US-CO-Greenwood Village Other Locations: US-NC-Durham Lead a team of highly skilled onsite and offshore developers in performing new product development and maintenance functions. Lead application support at an operational and tactical level; provide direction and guidance to the onsite/offshore developers by collaborating with cross-functional peers, product management teams under the guidance and supervision of Manager and/or Director. The role involves approximately a 30/70 mix of management and software development and support responsibilities. The candidate will be responsible for successful execution and delivery of projects and product at a tactical and operational level. * Responsible for the engineering and product development functional area for high profile products in the hospital planning space * Responsible for leading a project team of 10 software developers (onsite and offshore) through full system lifecycle, from high-level design to deployment. * Responsible for development staff coordination to ensure high quality deliverables are produced on-time and within budget. * Adhere to product engineering methodology while working collaboratively with a variety of cross-functional product teams (quality assurance, BA, PMO, configuration management, product management and shared services). * Challenge team members while growing your own technical, functional and leadership skills. * Prepare and monitor development schedules at the direction of the Manager and/or Director. * Manage engineering aspects of projects with minimal guidance including defining, monitoring, and maintaining project plans for small to mid-size projects and delegating tasks appropriately. * Track status and produce regular status reporting. * Coordinate and lead system design and development activities. * Communicate project development strategies within area of influence. * Produce well-written technical documentation. * Overall responsibility of technical solutions for product development functional area. The Healthcare business of Thomson Reuters provides insights -- information, benchmarks and analysis -- that enable organizations to manage costs, improve performance and enhance the quality of healthcare. * BS or MS in Computer Science, or related experience required * 5 years of experience in product development, service delivery and support including project management with consistent execution. * 3 years leading a technical team preferred * 2 years working with offshore/onsite team structure * Certified Scrum Master preferred * Prior experience in healthcare space is desired
Technical Skills * Microsoft .NET, Microsoft classic VB, classic ASP, JavaScript, SQL Server , Oracle, VBA and MS Office is required * Deep understanding of Microstrategy, Cognos or equivalent BI skill strongly preferred * Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts * Understanding of server technologies, emerging technologies * Understanding of design patterns, TDD, Continuous integration and other efficient development methodologies * Rally (preferred) * Microsoft, Sun or Oracle certification is a plus At Thomson Reuters, we believe what we do matters.
