Producer (Sports Media/PR/Broadcasting)
This position is responsible for producing studio shows, pre-game shows, magazine shows, specials and breaking news. Duties include maintaining fiscal oversight for assigned programs; working with the senior producer and senior coordinating producer on show content and presentation; working with assignment manager and Operations to coordinate and setup events and productions; produces needed documentaries; scheduling and participating in meeting and conference calls; and maintaining office hours, as necessary.
This position reports to the Sr. Coordinating Producer and is located in Chicago, IL.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Produces live shows, pre-game shows, magazine shows, specials and news. Works in conjunction with coordinating producers and Senior Producer Studio & Original Programming on show content and presentation
Works with assignment desk and operations to coordinate and to set up events and productions. Maintains fiscal oversight for all assigned programs
Assists in developing less experienced staff and freelance employees
Schedules and participate in meetings and conference calls related to events, as required. Maintains office hours as necessary
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Broadcasting, Radio/TV/Film, or equivalent work experience is required
Minimum of 5 years experience of live studio show line producing and post show producing required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
Good organizational and project management skills are necessary. A demonstrated ability work without supervision in a high pressure environment is essential. Must be able to adapt to changes easily, allow for flexibility with the schedule, and have strong attention to detail
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook is necessary. Knowledge of INEWS is helpful, but not required. The ability to operate video cameras, videotape decks, Beta SP, DVC Pro, and both linear and non-linear editing equipment is necessary.
Strong leadership skills are needed
Frequently required use of hands and fingers to write, manipulate telephone and computer keyboard. Regularly required to hear, talk and use close vision
Occasionally required to bend and lift up to 30 pounds
Must be able to drive a car. Must be willing to travel often and attend live sports events
