Description
At AT&T, our Chief Technology Office (CTO) is the embodiment of innovation. We're responsible for developing, designing, planning and building AT&T's wireless and wired networks, including the nation's fastest 3G wireless network, our groundbreaking U-verse network and one of the world's largest and most advanced IP backbone networks. Just as importantly, our team conducts industry-leading research and development for network technologies as well as the applications that take advantage of connectivity
Expert level individual contributor engineer conducting highly complex network design, development, and/or configuration activities. Responsible for design and engineering of IP Security of national data centers. Work with cross functional teams to communicate the engineering design plan in support of the development and deployment of network plans, upgrades and enhancements. Provide capacity management of currently deployed IP devices and links. Develop data networking solutions which comply with existing AT&T Mobility standards. Design, integrate, develop, and test data networking solutions for the AT&T Mobility voice and data networks. Work with new architectures and product introduction to make them standard implemented solutions in the network. Assist other Network Engineering teams in the analysis and diagnosis of problems. Remain current on IP and security products, standards and practices. Seen as SME for group/function.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
- Very good communication skills and ability to work with people. - Good experience in Microsoft Office Suite to include excellent skills Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
- Versed in security best practices, policies and industry standards.
- Requires 10+ years Network Engineering experience or related. CISSP, CCIE, CCNP and/or JNCIP,JNCIE preferred.
Desired Skills:
- Working knowledge in telecommunication networks topology and network connectivity. - Experience in wireless technology (2G and 3G wireless design) - Strong working knowledge of IP protocols, MPLS L2VPN, MPLS L3VPN, MPLS TE, OSPF, BGP, Cisco CRS-1, Juniper SRX, Juniper M-320, Juniper Netscreen, Ethernet, SONET, physical fiber and copper infrastructure, optical data networking and other data networking concepts.
- Bachelors degree from four-year college/university is preferred, preferably in Engineering/Math/Computer Science. Masters degree is a plus.
