Our client, a Boston-based nonprofit group, is looking for a dynamic individual to join their team as Controller. This position involved providing oversight for financial reporting as well as budgeting for and monitoring fiscal policies and practices. This individual must have leadership experience, as s/he will direct the agencys accounting functions, work with senior management across the organization in order to communicate budget policies and compliance. Major responsibilities of the Controller include managing deliverables of the Accounting and Payroll departments along with annual audits, coordinating with all sites to prepare budgets and reviewing results, and implementing systems to improve workflow. A successful candidate has a Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; a CPA is preferred, but not required. 5-10 years experience with 3-5 in supervisory role, demonstrated leadership skills, strong project management, customer service, and creative problem-solving skills are all necessary attributes of the individual.
