Operations Technician II (Sports Media/PR/Broadcasting)
The Operations Technician II role includes, but is not limited to, audio/communications, Master Control or production TD, server based non-linear edit and media operations, studio cameras, video shading and more.
Responsibilities
Candidates must maintain knowledge of technical standards and information, operating systems, broadcast equipment, signal flow and distribution and our applicable Technical Standard Operating Procedures.
Basic organizational skills are required.
Participation in training programs, (physical, classroom, virtual, etc.) for self-career development and/or regarding any relevant equipment and workflow changes within the operation.
Ability to participate in problem solving and troubleshooting techniques and effective communication to best convey the issues necessary for resolution.
Participation in required administrative tasks including, but not limited to, the effective utilization of all our software based applications (such as time entry and travel and expense filing), as well as the daily shift reporting and bi-monthly accomplishment documents.
All employees are expected to embrace company initiatives including town and/or departmental meetings, upward feedback performance management applications and employee surveys.
Basic Qualifications
A minimum of one year of practical TV Production or related experience.
Candidates must have fundamental knowledge of technical standards and information and operating systems.
Ability to perform tasks under tight deadlines.
Computer experience with Microsoft office software skills
Solid communication skills
Organizational skills are required
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays, and overtime as required in support of ongoing productions.
Flexibility to alter shifts/days off to accommodate projects and departmental objectives.
Preferred Qualifications
Basic understanding of all TV Production equipment and technology within assigned operating areas, which may include but not be limited to; VTRs, server based recording/ playback devices and related software applications, master control switchers and related equipment, production switchers and/or audio boards.
Preferred Education
A College or Technical School degree in communications, electronics, television production or related field.
