Nurse Residency Program - April 17, 2012 All recent RN graduates and nurses with less than one year of experience can now begin their career at DHMC through our one year inpatient Nurse Residency Program (NRP). This is a comprehensive, 9 week program specifically designed to meet the unique needs of today's new nurses. The program incorporates an orientation which focuses on the skills and knowledge base required for nursing in DHMC's academic, progressive, acute care environment. Using our newly developed, state of the art Simulation Center and varied clinical rotations, nurses will strengthen their assessment, critical thinking and clinical skills expected of DHMC nurses. Following completion of the NRP, you will begin your unit specific orientation. To be considered for our Nurse Residency Programs, you must submit a completed application packet. A completed packet includes an on-line application; a detailed letter of introduction to include the clinical rotation that was most interesting, where you completed your clinical rotations, externships, internships and/or senior preceptorships if applicable; resume; two letters of recommendation from clinical facultyor if employed as an RN include a reference from current employerand a copy of your current unofficial grade transcripts. TO HELP EXPEDITE THIS PROCESS AND TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE RESIDENCY PROGRAM, THE ABOVE STATED DOCUMENTS MUST BE SUBMITTED.
