GENERAL FUNCTION To teach preschool movement at the YMCA with emphasis on the safety and fundamentals of the sport. PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES ? Be willing to take safety certification and other courses designated by Director. ? To be a role model for the gymnastics participants while demonstrating the YMCA Four Core Values of Honesty, Responsibility, Respect, and Caring. ? Be knowledgeable of the ?40 Developmental Assets? set forth by the Search Institute. For more information please see their website . . ? Teach classes as scheduled by the Director. ? Supervise class participants during class. ? Plan and assist with any parent days or special events as scheduled by the Director. ? Report any accidents or incidents to Director as they occur. ? Requirements:
.KNOW-HOW ? Must be GREAT with kids, highly energetic and professional. Be at least 18 years of age. ? Prior gymnastics/cheerdance preferred. ? Must have the ability to teach ages 1 to 5. ? Must sing as part of program activities. ? Must be comfortable with instructing a group of youth. ? Should have the ability to create and use lesson plans. ? Recognize any safety concerns in regards to the use of the equipment. ? Must work well with parents.
