Our company is a fast growing national leader in the hospital pharmacy service business with locations around the US. We are looking for a customer-focused National Accounts Manager who is a strategic thinker to grow the customer base and take us to the next level.
It is the responsibility of the National Account Manager to develop relationships with all key decision makers / influencers (including executive suite personnel and program directors) in the U.S. GPO base. This position requires the development and implementation of a strategic plan for key accounts.
The manager must develop a disciplined approach to cultivate key relationships for the long term, building trust and credibility.
The key requirements of the position are as follows:
1) Make field visits and establish relationships with the key decision makers associated with U.S. National Accounts.
2) Negotiate and prepare all contracts within established guidelines and budget targets. Contracts must be renewed prior to expiration.
3) Conduct quarterly business reviews with each assigned National Account covering sales volume and compliance.
4) Manage all pricing and rebates within the Group and IDN base to be commensurate with the level of current business as well as the opportunity to the company.
5) Facilitate IDN agreements with the territory representatives to maintain levels of consistency across Groups and Regions.
6) Closely monitor and report competitive activity, including all competitive bids at formal openings.
7) Work to develop a National Accounts Strategy at the field level to increase sales to members.
8) Develop and coordinate sales presentations.
9) Prepare monthly management reports due each month on all activities.
10) Maintain contact sheet for all relevant GPO accounts.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field.
- Five plus years of successful, health care account managment.
- Ability to develop, analyze and develop the contracts side of the business and help sales reps breakdown barriers.
- Ability to adapt to customer’s changing needs.
- Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
- Daily travel required over multi-state territory.
- Experience with Contract Management preferred.
- Emphasis on selling Quality versus Price, with a focus on customer service.
