Position Description The primary purpose of the Dow Jones Media Lab is to create and deliver leading edge media research through the application of world class content, best of breed technology and customised reporting. Media Lab analysts configure the Dow Jones Insight products and all other products relevant to the Public Relations/ Corporate Communications segment to the exact requirements of the client and provide editorial services to ensure that customer needs are met. The objective of the Media Lab is to determine that a project is technically feasible and that the research outputs have integrity thereby ensuring that projects remain profitable. The Media Lab is functionally integrated into the Public Relations/ Corporate Communications segment of the Enterprise Media Group. As a Media Analyst within the Dow Jones Media Lab, you will have a matrix reporting structure with functional reporting responsibility to the Media Lab Team Leader and project reporting to a Media Consultant. The role requires experience of quantitative and qualitative media research processes, and a proven ability to develop search & text mining strategies to gather and process only relevant media articles. Media Analysts participate in manual reporting which relies on strong written and formatting skills. Position Requirements . The ability to interpret a research brief, develop search strategies and gather results that satisfy the brief for relevancy and volume. . For one-off reports, presentation of data in report format with context analysis that makes the client aware of important underlying issues ("Research on Demand"). . Become skilled on Dow Jones product range relevant to the PRCC segment and configure them in order to meet client requirements. . Conduct favourability analysis projects and assure that articles are coded correctly with regard to the sentiment of the story. . Conduct media audits, an evaluation of the current Dow Jones Factiva content and check of client requirements for source additions. . Develop and document research processes and procedures and provide frequency status updates to the Media Consultants and Business Development Managers. . Manage multiple projects to the agreed deadlines. . Work independently and directly with Media Consultant on research design and presentation. Other Information
