Mechanical System Design & Analysis Engineer 1
This position is for a Drive Systems engineering position on the CH-47 Chinook program. Supports the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment. Supports the development, maintenance or modification of system designs/proposals to provide design documentation and high-level requirements to downstream users/customers. Performs limited detail design development and modification of mechanical and fluid system installations. Supports team in performing spatial integration at system or component level and modification of mechanisms/landing gear/ordinance systems. Assists in preparing technical documents for mechanical components and systems. Assists in supporting proposal preparation and new business development efforts. Works under close supervision.

Technical• Analyze & Interpret Engineerin
Basic ability to analyze and interpret company products (e.g. analyzing GSE drawings). Knowledge acquired through on the job training.
• Computer Aided Design Tools
Basic knowledge of computer aided design tools and systems (e.g., computer aided design/computer aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM), computer aided three dimensional interactive (CATIA), Mentor Graphics, Unigraphics). Able to manipulate data sets, (e.g., compare CATIA to measurement data, create stereo lithography files).
• Mech Spatial/Func Integration
Basic knowledge of spatial and functional integration requirements (e.g., vehicle volume use, separation, standards, maintenance) to develop design definition data.
• Mechanical Component/System En
Basic knowledge of mechanical component and system design, analysis, and integration. Basic knowledge of the tools required for design, analysis, evaluation, and integration (i.e. computer aided design systems, mathematical modeling software, tolerance analysis software).
• Mechanical/Structural Eng Prin
Basic knowledge of mechanical/structural engineering principles (e.g., fatigue and corrosion, stress analysis, statics and dynamics, strength of materials, metal forming characteristics).
Basic Qualifications For ConsiderationDo you have experience with solid modeling in Catia V5 for metallic castings and housings?
Do you have experience resolving questions utilizing dimensional checking of Catia V5 models?
Do you have experience creating 2D drawings with Catia V5?
Do you have experience utilizing the drawing and/or model release processes in Team Center Engineering (or other virtual product manager) ?
Do you meet the criteria described in the 'Typical Education / Experience' section of this requisition?
Typical Education/Experience
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
