Master Control Operator I (Sports Media/PR/Broadcasting)
The Master Control Operator will demonstrate proficiency within specific Production Operations workflow, including but not limited to; protocol for live programs, commercial and program log documentation, regional feeds and market protection procedures, intercom communication procedures, media transfer team roles in specified operating areas, success in advanced job functions and any required documentation.
Responsibilities
A thorough understanding of TV Production methods of measuring audio and video signals to ensure quality control of our endorsed standards on all operations.
A basic workflow understanding of other business units, including their impact and/or specific integration with Network Control Operations.
Experience in problem solving and troubleshooting techniques and effective communication to best convey the issues necessary for resolution.
Sound organizational, efficiency and planning skills are required.
Participation in training programs, (physical, classroom, virtual, etc.) for self-career development and/or regarding any relevant equipment and workflow changes within the operation.
Participation in required administrative tasks including, but not limited to, the effective utilization of all our software based applications (such as time entry and travel and expense filing), as well as the daily shift reporting and bi-monthly accomplishment documents.
All employees are expected to embrace company initiatives including town and/or departmental meetings, upward feedback performance management applications and employee surveys.
Basic Qualifications
A minimum of 4 years of practical TV Production or related experience.
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Flexibility to alter shifts/days off to accommodate projects and departmental objectives.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc...)
Advanced knowledge of all TV Production equipment and technology within assigned operating areas, including but not limited to; VTRs, server based recording/ playback devices and related software applications, network switching devices and associated automation software, network branding devices and associated keyer control systems, program content software, TV Production routers, time base correctors, intercom systems, signal conversion equipment, etc.
Solid communication skills.
Preferred Education
A College or Technical School degree in communications, electronics, television production or related field.
