SUMMARY –The Product Marketing Coordinator manages and coordinates all of the Higher Education Teacher Education textbook product information, creation and production of sales tools and emarketing (eCatalogs/Zmags, smartmail), provides data & systems accuracy reporting, and serves as the conference coordinator.
Coordinator will manage the budget for SMP freelancers, sales tools, and any costs associated with emarketing (zmags, etc.)
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Information: * Oversees all freelances and process for ensuring accurate and timely product information is provided into HEPM (internal system) * Ensures editorial and marketing approval of copy Sales Tools: * Once formal strategy around sales tools is concluded by marketing management, the coordinator will manage the entire creation, production and on time delivery of sales tools that support whole list (Super Tool, Perfect Match, custom topic finder, etc.). This includes working with design and managing all copyediting and ensuring accuracy. Note: Digital/Media strategy and content should be provided by marketing managers. * Responds to broader HED requests for product information used in HED Sales Tools and/or requests for accuracy checking on product information * Oversees budget for sales tools eMarketing * Collaborates with marketing managers on product eMarketing (zmags) to set creative direction * Manages creation and production of eMarketing towards due dates * Manages smartmail system and crafting of draft smartmails for marketing management review. Coordinator will be provided with boilerplate copy for all media/digital strategies (MyEdLab, MyCounselingLab, PCL, and related links). * Manages budget for any associated eMarketing (zmags) Product Data and Systems reporting * Responsible for running monthly reports on publication dates, product status, supplements, out of sync copyright reports, etc. for the purpose of identification of incorrect system information (incorrect instocks, etc.) * Responsible for running monthly (or weekly depending on time of year) product copy reports Conference Coordination * Serves at point person with the conventions team to field all paperwork and requests for conferences * Meets with the marketing manager to discuss all conference needs * Completes all required paperwork and booklists * Works with marketing communications on the delivery of flyers, posters, etc. for shows * Works with conventions on all conference events (luncheons, receptions, etc.). Note: Marketing Management is responsible for all market development activities (recruitment to focus groups, workshops, etc.). Coordinator can provide support on food, AV and room needs but is not responsible for the recruiting and execution of focus groups or author coordinator for those events. Qualifications:
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE Formal education or equivalent experience(note: this is the minimum requirement. Equivalent experience in lieu of a formal degree should be listed.) * Education typically acquired via Bachelor’s degree or appropriate combination of education and significant experiences. * Typically requires a minimum of 2-3 years of related workpreferably in Higher Education publishing Skills/knowledge/abilities –
* InDesign and Camptasia skills (training to be provided as necessary) * Exceptional writing and copyediting skills * Proven experience with Office Applications (Word, Excel, etc.) * Strong organization and time management skills * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Budget and project management experience * Exceptional interpersonal skills to work with a variety of team members and dynamic project demands * Ability to juggle multiple tasks, handle tight deadlines and high volume workloads with a great attitude This position is based in Boston, but could be based out of Columbus, OH.
