SUMMARY The main purpose of this position is to strategically guide, develop and execute promotion and demand generation. Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for exercising a level of initiative and frequently connecting with the right people, both internally and externally, to obtain information in order to develop promotion and communication initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
External Communication and Promotion * Develop overall marketing communications plans for the portfolio and related product launches, demand generation initiatives and customer announcements. Create, manage and deliver the tactics to effectively implement the plans, thereby increasing market awareness and momentum. * Effectively manage and facilitate costs and payments associated with projects. * Create brand preference, revenue momentum and demand generation (externally to customers, channel partners, media, and internally to sales, executives, and the overall employee population) forportfoliothrough creation and delivery of effective messaging and all associated campaign tactics through the use of various media and distribution channels (web, newsletters, tradeshows, email campaigns, seminars, web casts, speaking engagements at conferences and tradeshows, etc). This may include but not be limited toplanning, writing and/or distributing editorial articles, product bulletins, case studies, newsletters, web content and other sales literature for appropriate and targeted internal and external distribution. * Process leads generated from campaigns into and provide campaign metrics reports for management as requested. Internal Communication and Promotion * Frequently and collaboratively communicates with different departments/people to obtain information for content initiatives and publication. * Produce and edit internal and external marketing documents (individually or part of a team) for use by sales, channel partners, executives, product management, and others as determined. * Maintain content on Company intranets * Recommend the most appropriate software tools or procedures for effective assignment productivity. * Archive project files as needed according to department procedures and best practices. * Create templates for communication as required. Additional Duties * From time to time, special projects may require a departure from or addition to regular duties. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
* BA/BS in Business Administration, Marketing or related field or equivalent combination of education and work related experience. * 5-7 years general marketing communications experience with an emphasis in the technology and/or telecommunications. * Ability to develop comprehensive marketing plans and campaigns. * Ability to prioritize and manage projects and tasks. * Proficiency with MS Office applications. * Proven track record of developing relationships with external resources, including but not limited to industry resellers and users, vendors and suppliers, associations, media, etc. * Strong time management skills. * Proactive attention to details. * Internet experience; ability to research information and input and revise data. * Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written. * Ability to work independently as well as with others to generate teamwork. * Ability to work the required hours for the position. * Familiarity with telephony and/or telecommunications and/or PC products.
