Position Summary The ISOC technician provides expertise in supporting problem resolution, configuration and change management functions, network security, performance and fault management and monitoring, reporting, quality assurance, scheduling, and documentation by utilizing sophisticated network management, monitoring and analysis tools. Additionally, the technician will coordinate operations and interactions with the Navy, LES/teleports operators, space segment operators and fiber providers, and the Program Management Office to support the delivery of end-to-end imum Requirements 1. Provide Technical Support on Satellite Services. Troubleshooting support for X-Band Network Services, UHF Services, On-Demand Networks (such as DVB type services), customized End-to-End services (to include terrestrial backhaul), Satellite Bandwidth and Managed Network Services (such as iDirect , VIPERSAT, IP Trucking Services and International Private Line). 2. Provide Service Implementation Support for End-to-End services and Managed Network Services. Coordinate and direct end user or technician accessing the satellite to ensure proper alignment of the satellite antenna. Conduct necessary testing of antenna or systems, such as compression testing and update databases to reflect values. Configure Juniper CTP devices and establish back haul connectivity to Navy POP. Conduct End-to-end testing of provisioned ckts 3. Provide Performance Monitoring. Utilize carrier management systems, Satmanage and other management tools to provide network and usage analysis. 4. Proactively monitor Services: Monitor network devices, video monitoring, teleport equipment monitoring and monitor satellite carriers. 5. Provide Fault Management Support. Troubleshoot outages and faults on all aspects of the circuit: Satellite, VSAT, Teleport, Telco. Provide detailed ticket of all troubleshooting and implementation activities, change request. Provide RFI identification and resolution. 6. Proactively monitor Services: Monitor network devices, video monitoring, teleport equipment monitoring and monitor satellite carriers. 7. Provide level 1 hands on support for customer Collocated equipment. 8. Interface with vendors and 3rd party teleports. 9. Track RMA support for faulty equipment. 10. Arrange for technical dispatches to customer locations. 11. Provide technical support to Mobile Satellite Services, to include: Iridium handheld phones, BGAN terminals, Thurays systems and Inmarsat legacy systems. 12. Manage Customer specific programs such as CBSP which requires a single central network Point of Contract , maintaining the entire Navy network, and committing global support services to establish and maintain the end-to-end SATCOM connectivity. 13. Manage and coordinates troubleshooting and scheduled maintenances with the teleports , 3rd party satellite operators, terrestrial providers, and the Engineering Team. 14. Coordinate new activations, deactivations, change orders, performance management, planned maintenances, configuration management, fault management, security and information assurance, Incident Response Plan, Schedule of Events (SOE). 15. Detailed document all troubleshooting activities in trouble logging system. 16. Provide assistance to teleport operators and VSAT terminal operators with isolating and resolving transmission problems affecting or degrading the satellite. 17. Arrange UHF and IRIS Payload changes with the Satellte Operations Center. 18. Follow Established Process and Procedures. 19. Must be able to lead and direct troubleshooting actives on RF and Network devices with customers/technicians at all skill levels. 20. Compile and provide customer specific reports, to include contractually required daily and monthly reports, ticket reports, Interference reports and outage reports. 21. Lead and direct troubleshooting on RF and Networking devices with customers/technicians at all skill levels. Preferred Qualifications
