Group Manager, On-Site Marketing
PayPal is the faster, safer way to pay and get paid online. As a leader in our On-Site Marketing team, you will play a critical role in delivering on revenue and business priorities by creating and managing execution of strategy on the small business areas of our web site. You will work with highly-skilled designers, writers, SEO experts, analysts, and developers to create compelling, effective, and innovative online experiences that result in user satisfaction and conversion. You will be expected to run the site like a business, managing revenue and expense lines against quarterly and annual targets. This role will have specific responsibility for:
Understanding and managing individual web commitments, including weekly assessment of how/why we are hitting or missing projection - and driving actions to remedy any shortfalls or accelerate growth.
Manage the production of online content and experiences from product concept through to completion.
Coordinate and lead cross-functional teams of creative and interaction designers, copywriters, and engineers to ensure that web marketing projects are implemented on schedule, on budget and on brand.
Understand basic technical requirements and assist with quality assurance, ensuring consistency of customer experience.
Partner with marketing teams to understand their business goals, prioritize projects based on overall goals, communicate this prioritization clearly to all stakeholders and deliver on expectations.
Understand and manage success metrics (conversion, revenue, task completion, customer satisfaction, and others) for program areas.
Work with Analytics to understand, interpret and communicate project/test results and implications. Determine and communicate next steps accordingly.
Lead and participate in customer-based research as applicable.
Build user-centric design processes into how the team works; lead and participate in customer-based research as applicable
Help drive long-term Web strategy by balancing design trends, technology, and customer needs.
Help business leaders understand and manage towards fiscal year revenue goals, including weekly assessment of how/why we are hitting or missing projections, and recommend course correction strategies to get back on target
Successful candidates will offer a strategic perspective, possess sound business judgment and deep analytical capabilities, and demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively. They will possess strong intellectual curiosity, and a passion for achieving practical business impact. Successful candidates will have exceptional interpersonal skills, initiative, and integrity.
The candidate has excelled in roles that significantly shaped the online experience and drove both customer and revenue growth - such as Producer, Product Manager, Product Marketing Manager, or User Experience Manager.
A clear track record of leading growth (i.e., increased conversion rates) online, preferably for a company selling technology-related services directly to small businesses.
Exceptional understanding of Web site design, UI design principles, and information architecture; solid understanding of usability testing, split (or multivariate) testing, Web analytics, and Web marketing (e.g., SEO, social, affiliate)
An experienced and well-regarded manager of people.
Proven record of working effectively in a changing environment, with the ability to change direction based on contingencies or environmental changes while staying true to the business strategy.
Demonstrates an ability to formulate business questions and seek solutions based on a combination of inputs including data analysis and user research.
Comfortable working with web engineers and technical issues.
Strong problem-solving, and analytical orientation with the ability to innovate and analyze alternative solutions.
Communicates clearly, outlining problems, targets, results and key insights, using Microsoft office tools
