The job includes monitoring news wires; responding to breaking news including arranging for live video and correspondent reports or phoners; booking reporter live shots for all broadcasts; booking satellite transmissions for Live/Tape material; working with overseas staff and New York producers and Bureaus to coordinate coverage of daily stories and long-term features.
Candidate should be familiar with foreign desk Assignment Desk work and have an interest in Foreign News coverage.
Candidate should also have solid news judgment and attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time.
Familiarity with satellite transmissions is also a plus.
