Position Description Position Overview:
Support the executive compensation function within Expedia, participating in plan design, program creation and maintenance, research and gathering insights into competitive and best practices. Interfaces with all areas within HR to support new hires, promotions, and other internal movement. Compensation Committee support and material development. This role is not the liaison with the Compensation Committee but rather facilitates the process of taking recommendations, proposals and routine items for approval.
Responsibilities:
1) Prepare and coordinate materials for regular and ad-hoc Compensation Committee meetings, and participate in planning meetings regarding topics, content, etc. Prepare draft reports and final reports, including exhibits, summaries, and recommendations. 2) Partner with HR and executive recruiting in the creation of offers for internal and external candidates. Provide consultation on competitive and creative offers. 3) Conduct benchmarking of total compensation packages, including trend analysis, surveys, and SEC filings. 4) Participate in program design and make recommendations for new programs, changes and improvements to current programs. Research implications in various countries, including tax, regulatory, accounting, etc. Provide analyses and modeling of plan designs and costs that are comprehensive yet easily understood by executive and other audiences. 5) Provide general compensation support for business units as required, such as during annual review period. 6) Develop training tools, presentations, etc. and deliver to HR partners and recruiting on executive compensation topics.
Qualifications:
Strong working knowledge of legal, tax and accounting rules and regulations related to executive compensation (FAS 123R, 409(a), 162(m), etc). Must enjoy working in a complex, international company with rapid change and fast pace. Work Experience and Education Guidelines:
3 - 5 years of compensation experience, focusing on senior executive compensation on a global scale, with experience in a publicly-traded company, for-profit pre-IPO company or in a consulting firm focusing on executive compensation.
