Description: Do you have a keen eye for safety? Volt Workforce Solutions may have the perfect opportunity for you! Volt Workforce Solutions is currently searching for an Environmental Tech.
In this role you would be responsible for investigating and addressing safety problems. You would monitor and inspect operations, equipment, facilities and work habits to detect hazardous conditions and practices, and recommend corrective or pro active actions to assure the safety of employees.
Administer OSHA required safety programs.
Develop Safety procedures and maintain the required documentation. Identify and provide safety training and information.
Select the appropriate scope and depth of training needed for individuals Provide support and assistance to Department safety Meetings, including performing the required training for employees.
Prescribe safety clothing and personal protective equipment to be used in specific areas and tasks. Assure the proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment.
Inspects and maintains chemical storage areas.
Perform safety audits throughout the facilities.
Volt is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Requirements: EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 3-5 years experience in the environmental tech field. Experience in OSHA, DOT and EPA compliance. Must possess a familiarity with all written programs and Industrial Hygiene. Degree is preferred dependent on experience. Must have at least 3-5 years experience in the environmental tech field.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret governmental regulations and technical procedures. Must possess the ability to write technical reports and business letters, must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from vendors, managers, supervisors and other personnel within the organization.
