Editorial Coordinator
The Editorial Coordinator for Internal Communications reports to the Manager of Internal Communications. The working schedule is part-time at 28 hours per week. This position oversees the content and production of the quarterly Members Calendar and supports the Manager of Internal Communications in the editing, writing, and production of the Museum's staff newsletter, Met Matters, including special editions and the Retirees' Met Matters, and also supports the manager in the drafting, editing, and circulation of other communications. Other publications that involve the Senior Editorial Coordinator include the On View brochure, floor plan, and the Annual Report, as needed.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties: -Edits and drafts content and also is responsible for image selection for the Members Calendar -Serves as primary contact for the Members Calendar, interfacing with both the publication's outside art director and staff in a range of departments- the curatorial departments as well as Education, Membership, Development, and others -Attends meetings with the Director where publication layouts and covers are presented and reviewed -Edits content and proofreads each issue of the staff newsletter, Met Matters -Oversees the production, editing, and final proof stage of the On View brochure -Provides editorial input for other publications such as the floor plan, On View panel, and Met brochure -Works with the Manager of Internal Communications to report on news and items of interest to all staff -Coordinates production of the Calendar with the Museum's Editorial Department and is also the primary contact in the printing of each Calendar, sending and receiving the required communications with the printer -Assists the Manager of Internal Communications in the planning, research, and completion of other internal communications and publications and in the scheduling of meetings related to such communications -Other related duties
