Origin Digital: Director of Market Development
Context:
While Origin Digital is already recognized as a center for “IP Video Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)” within the global Accenture business community, OD is seeking to take this to the next level. Within its Business Development and Operations teams, OD has established expertise with the current array of market leading IP Video enabling and delivery technologies. However, as global sales expand for Origin Digital, it is seeking to increase its senior BD & Sales force by adding individuals who are able to combine a consultative selling method with a broader technical base - which will include: 1) a strong working knowledge of IP Video standards, players, applications, etc . ; 2) a fundamental grasp of the high efficiency environments from which OD runs increasing portions of the multi-media CMS and publishing services, such as “cloud”; 3) a robust understanding of CDNs and Operator Networks; 4) experience selling at senior levels to large corporations; 5)a general understanding of international business practices.
Job Description: Director of Market Development
Role Objective:
To participate proactively and creatively in expanding Origin Digital’s role as a global center of expertise around IP Video and its enabling technologies – and to drive rapid increase in the number of platform, consultative, and project based engagements with OD/Accenture clients and prospects worldwide.
Job Requirements:
Deep familiarity with IP Video and CDN technology – from application services and interfaces to infrastructure.
An appetite for continuous learning around the evolving protocols, technologies, and services required for successful CDN deployments – including “value added services”, including those that OD enables today and is developing for the future to meet the needs of content originators, broadcasters and enterprise customers - their segments migrate their use and distribution of video to delivery over broadband.
Independent work style - The CDN Services Lead at OD will be working across numerous accounts, and various geographies, and will need to manage time and schedule to address the varying work requirements, geos, client objectives, and even time zones. This will require “self starter” motivation, and proactive engagement mentality. Accenture is not forgiving when it comes to timelines and responsiveness – and OD has established a reputation for hard driving, proactive opportunity handling that it needs to protect and enhance.
Business development through to delivery: The Director of Market Development at OD will work both in pre-sales through to the initial stages of delivery. He/She will interact with Accenture account teams and senior client leads in his/her designated market – and will take full ownership over opportunities for Origin Digital – and will orchestrate organizational contributions (both technical and commercial) as a proactive agent driving engagements and closing business.
Travel: The Director of Market Development will need to be where the opportunity is – at least when the initial scoping and shaping of an engagement is taking place; this may require international or domestic travel.
Flexible Teaming: Origin Digital is an Accenture company – and an Accenture horizontal asset (meaning it operates across geographies and industry groups to drive business). The Accenture opportunity handling process is one which combines resources from various areas of expertise, forming purpose driven teams which then aggressively pursue client opportunities. The Origin Digital Director of Market Development will be a participant in the broader Accenture process during pre-sales, while taking the lead on driving opportunity support with Origin Digital as a discreet business unit.
The Director of Market Development reports to Origin Digital’s SVP, Business & Market Development.
This position is based in Detroit/Southeast Michigan area.
