This position is responsible for licensing of game action footage to Marketing Partners, Teams, Regional Sports Networks, International Partners, Television Programs, Motion Pictures, Museums, Philanthropic Organizations, and other entities.
Major Responsibilities
Negotiate legal and financial terms of license agreements with clients. Concisely summarize licensing issues for internal review. Coordinate processes and communicate internally and externally with motion picture and television production companies' licensing requests. Collaborate with internal departments to maximize exposure and marketing efforts through various League programming and entertainment ventures. Research, negotiate, acquire and license third party stock footage for use within Entertainment Original Programming Television Productions, and in-arena productions. Manage production staff with the timing and execution of all footage requests. Member of legal review clearance team for productions which includes viewing rough cuts and providing clearance feedback prior to the airing of programs. Respond to large volume of email requests, internal and external. Prioritize and organize workflow and supervise Manager, Footage Licensing or other staff, as assigned.
Required Skills/Knowledge:
Significant experience in the licensing decision making process as it pertains to rights, company policy and other criteria. Demonstrated ability to grasp and implement legal concepts Ability to work independently and pro-actively. Ability to work on multiple projects and engage multiple stakeholders in a challenging and fast paced environment.
Experience Needed
10+ years experience working for a media/entertainment company with direct experience in the licensing, business affairs and production areas.
Educational Background Required
Bachelor's degree in business administration or related discipline required MBA Preferred
