Corporate Development Associate
The Corporate Development group leads Level 3’s mergers and acquisitions activities, which are an integral component of the company’s growth strategy. Level 3 is constantly evaluating new opportunities covering the broad spectrum of its communications services and has been historically active in M&A over its 12-year history having completed 24 acquisitions totaling over $5 billion in consideration, along with numerous divestitures of non-core businesses. The Corporate Development group is primarily responsible for leading and executing these efforts, including the identification, evaluation, structuring, negotiation and closing of transactions.
Associates play a critical role on deal teams supporting senior deal team members during all stages of the transaction process. The associate will be responsible for:
• Detailed financial modeling and diligence supporting transactions • Industry and competitor analyses • Assisting in developing executive level presentations • Engaging with members of extensive internal diligence teams and external advisors • Assisting the legal team in the preparation and review of deal documents
Ideal candidate qualifications include the following: • 2-3 years of work experience from a leading investment bank (preferably from within an M&A group), private equity or corporate development • Outstanding academic record • Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Transaction experience in the telecom industry is preferred but not required • Excellent interpersonal/relationship-building skills
