POSITION TITLE: Corporate Communications Associate
DEPARTMENT: Corporate Communications
STATUS: Full-time/Active
SUPERVISOR: Director, Corporate Communications
JOB OBJECTIVE:
* Manage the day-to-day operations of Viewer Services including managing viewer comment responses, supervising a viewer services staff member and developing reports as needed.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Develop stock responses for most popular viewer comment topics and ensure they are updated as necessary; research and draft responses for specific questions, seeking input from other PBS departments when needed; monitor Viewer Services Discussion Board on PBS Connect; contribute to 's Program Contacts and FAQ sections; monitor contact flow (email, phone, hard mail) and bring trends to the attention of supervisor. (50%)
* Monitor contact flow, report on trends and coordinate with PBS staff and producers to send out timely reports.
* Supervise Viewer Services Coordinator on a day-to-day basis; provide supervisor with bi-weekly reports. (10%)
* Manage and update viewer responses.
* Conceive and produce regular Viewer Services reports for key audiences.
* Moderate Viewer Services Discussion Board on PBS Connect.
* Provide appropriate viewer contact data to PBS staff upon request.
* Respond to viewer email, phone calls and hard mail.
* Help update and maintain Program Contacts and FAQ pages on . > WORK EXPERIENCE:
* Customer service experience such as experience at a membership organization, congressional office or PR firm.
* Strong writing and editing background.
* Knowledge of PBS and public television preferred.
EDUCATION/TRAINING and TECHNICAL SKILLS :
* College degree in English, Journalism or Public Relations, Humanities or Liberal Arts (or equivalent combination of education and professional experience).
* Familiarity with electronic communication systems including World Wide Web, Internet, and HTML.
* Database management experience preferred.
* Above average skills in typing/word processing, spreadsheets and electronic communications systems.
OTHER SPECIAL SKILLS:
* Creative thinking in approaches to mail responses, handling mail volume and maintaining organization.
* Attention to detail and exceptional reporting skills.
* Ability to interact with all levels of multi-faceted corporation.
