The Content Creation Europe Team based in Barcelona is responsible for bringing a non-English language industry news perspective to our product; . This is done through tagging Editor's Choice stories in 4 languages, building and keeping up to date non-English Regional Factiva News Pages, adding and maintaining publications into our Newsstand and adding non-English language web content to our archive of licensed sources through Factiva's web platform. We also assist other departments in any projects that may require non-English language expertise. Separate from , we work with Taxonomy Services to create non-English Managed News Summaries for clients interested in customized newsletters.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Editor's Choice is designed to give customers a quick sense of the current state of an industry. The Content Creation Specialist uses targeted searches to scour the archive each morning to find the most relevant stories for each industry. Articles are hand-selected in 31 industries and five languages: English, French, Spanish, German and Russian. Web Crawler, the Factiva Web content platform, contains around 16.000 web sites including 4.000 blogs. The aim is to supplement Factiva's archive of licensed sources through crawling content not otherwise available in .
The Content Creation Specialist is responsible for monitoring the web agents health reports and fixing all the agents that are not running well in the system as well as building all the new agents that are requested on a weekly basis. The new Web Content goes through Factiva Source Processing, just like licensed content, including autocoding by Categorizer and Rules-Based Coding. Newsstand is a component available on Factiva News Pages that allows users to browse through almost 200 of our top sources as if they were reading the hard copy. Using the tagging supplied by our Information Providers, the Content Creation Specialist writes queries that retrieve stories in groupings that mimic the set-up of the print publication. News Pages and Snapshots - There are three types of News Pages within (Personal Pages, Group Pages and Factiva Pages) and all serve as a central repository of the current information that's most important to our clients. Factiva Pages are created by Content Creation and cannot be revised by users. Factiva Pages cover approximately 65 industry, regional, and news subject topics. Personal Pages are customized by users and can include components such as Newsstand, Saved Searches, Track Folders and Quotes. Group Pages are created by an administrator at a client's company and contains information pertinent to that company or department. Content Creation primarily works on Factiva Pages, but also populates the News and Web Resources options available as components of Personal Pages. On Factiva Pages, the Content Creation Specialist select Editor's Links, Top Sources and determines what news should appear on the page through the use of news bubbles, Newsstand and Saved Searches. Factiva Pages are checked regularly to ensure content is current and fresh. Content Creation also responds to world events by creating new Factiva Pages or adding Saved Searches to existing ones. In addition the new Factiva Snapshots provide a simple and effective way to monitor news and information on industries, regions, companies and topics and are maintained by the Content Creation Team. Managed News Summary - is a customized service for clients in which highly relevant news articles are delivered via email on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. Content Creation works closely with the client to ascertain their information needs. Once the needs of the client are understood the Content Creation specialist writes queries to retrieve news on the designated topics and the most relevant articles are then selected from these queries. An editorial tool is used to efficiently format and deliver the news summaries. Once the news summary is set up to the client's satisfaction, Content Creation Specialists then train and outsource the daily production work to our outsourcing partner.
