The successful candidate will provide internal strategic communications counsel and expertise in partnership with leadership and other stakeholders to drive employee commitment and behavior to achieve the company's business t be able to develop and lead strategic efforts that result in organizational communications that are relevant, accurate, timely, accessible and supportive of the company's culture and reputation. Must be a good decision-maker and proven strategist with strong track record of tactical execution, capable of working independently on multiple projects with minimal supervision to achieve organizational goals according to documented communications duties include consulting; communications plan development and execution along with project and relationship management for ongoing cyclical activities as well as ad hoc change initiatives; building and maintaining the company internal brand among employees, developing and implementing processes to measure results; idea generation; writing; and client interaction/approval of content and budget. Position is highly collaborative with stakeholders as well as co-workers within Corporate Communications and in Williams' business groups. Scope of projects affects entire organization, as well as discrete audiences within the employee population. This position is accountable for developing, maintaining and updating portions of the corporation's internal communications plan. Limited media relations possible.
Requirements:
Experience in an organizational communications consulting role; expert writing skills with command of AP Style; ability to contribute as team leader or team member, depending on the project; strong oral communications skills; news judgment (limited newspaper experience a plus); ability to identify and generate relevant success stories for employee audiences; demonstrated understanding of Williams' business, goals and history desirable; ability to translate Williams' business and goals into audience-appropriate formats; project management skills; ability to understand and monitor project budgets; editing and proofreading proficiency. Bachelor' degree in communications, public relations, marketing communications, journalism or business with relevant communications experience is strongly preferred. Proven internal/employee communications experience required. Seven or more years of relevant experience preferred. The position will be filled at a level commensurate with the successful candidate's skills and experience.
