This position is responsible for the tactical and operational implementation of the company's social media outreach and engagement plan. This position will work as part of the corporate communications team to develop and execute Sprint’s pre-paid external social media program including but not limited to:
· Daily analysis of on-line news coverage and on-line postings regarding the company, the communications industry and issues related to the company and its interests
· Working closely with client and internal teams to execute social media engagements for clients, including serving as a community manager for clients' social spaces #e.g., Facebook pages, Twitter feeds.
· Identifying, engaging and building positive relationships with strategic and targeted outlets and individuals
· Working with broader social media team to implement comprehensive technical as well as content-based social media plan
· Research, recommend and execute external facing social media site (s) as well as additional external opportunities in conjunction with business partners
· Track success of social media marketing programs. Organize results and findings into presentations under the direction of senior team members
This position, in consultation with business and staff function departments, designs detailed, multi-phase communications s position may draft and circulate social media press releases and social media kits in support of these campaigns. In addition, this position may also plan and organize special events in support of those initiatives and may attend them as the main company representative. This position requires an individual with a degree in communications, journalism, or a related discipline. The right candidate will have extremely strong interpersonal communications skills (written/verbal); be customer service oriented, a dedicated team player and pro-active self starter. This position requires a detailed knowledge of the structure and editorial positions of the trade and general media typically acquired through 3 to 5 years of newsroom, corporate communications or agency experience.
LEVEL –Must be social media savvy and an enthusiastic online strategist with a passion for social media. Must have the technical expertise to understand the Web environment and be able to communicate through social networking tools such as Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Flickr, Twitter, blogs, RSS, etc. while being able to communicate the technical issues to a non-technical audience. Must be highly collaborative, willing and able to work across functions, geographies, work groups, etc. Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in news development, dissemination and on-line engagement. Interprets internal or external business issues and recommends best practices. Solves complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions. Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations. Recognized as an expert in own area within the organization.
