GENERAL PURPOSE Palisades is seeking a dedicated Communications Specialist to work together with the Communication/Branding department and all departments within Palisades to write and execute the delivery of communication mediums.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This person will provide copywriting and editing for promotional, advertising, collateral, web, eCommerce materials, press releases, video, paper and eNewsletters. They will also have the ability to write feature stories for internal and external marketing needs along with participating in creative, brainstorming meetings to generate new communication ideas. The Communications Specialist will also work together with the Director and department on the management of an editorial calendar for all targeted audiences. They will also provide a strong project trafficking skill set and an understanding of project management to assist the Director and department to push projects through to completion.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work together with the Communications Department to support content placement and content review/research (as needed) on social medium properties (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
Ability to take photos of company events and other marketing needs
Content management skill set for uploading of content and photos onto both internal and public website
Assists in the coordination of special events such as the Annual Agent meeting
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE Demonstrated copywriting, editing and proofreading experience Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience from a public relations agency or corporate communications department Strong project management skills for delivery of projects on time and in budget Demonstrates strong written and verbal communications skills Demonstrates organizational skills Ability to work well in a team environment by accepting and offering constructive feedback, helping to support team goals and supports collaboration of work Creative to brainstorm new ideas/think out of the box Ability to take digital pictures, edit pictures and include on web, within articles, newsletter, other marketing mediums
EDUCATION Bachelor?s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations
COMPUTER SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Skill set in Excel, Microsoft Word, Photoshop and PowerPoint. HTML knowledge preferred
